Waikuku Beach Holiday Park – Information, Terms & Conditions of Stay
SJE Waikuku Ltd Trading as Waikuku Beach Holiday Park. All rates are GST inclusive (15%) and are in New Zealand dollars ($NZL). We accept Visa, MasterCard (2% surcharge applies), EFTPOS and New Zealand cash as well as payments through internet banking. The name that will appear on your statements is Waikuku Beach Holiday Park.
Accounts: Payment is required in full on arrival. Unfortunately we do not allow credit on accounts during your stay, so if you would like to extend your stay please notify reception prior to checkout (10am). No refunds for early departures or late arrivals.
After Hours: A 24 hour call button is located at the front of Reception to contact the duty manager in case of emergency or disturbance.
All Bookings: Reservations are only confirmed on receipt of either full payment (if booking is less than $200.00) or a $200.00 deposit, with balance payable on arrival. The credit card used to secure your reservation will be charged at the time of booking.
All Tents, Caravans, and Motorhomes must be set 1.5m from adjacent site boundaries or 3m from neighbouring tents, caravans, motorhomes.
Bicycles: Cyclists are reminded that helmets must be worn, and to ride on roadways only within the park.
Breakages: Any damage to Holiday Park property must be reported to reception as soon as possible. Costs of any damages to property will be charged to the person/s responsible. An invoice can be provided on request.
Cancellation Policies:
Peak Season (22nd December and 6th February)
Reservations are only confirmed on receipt of either full payment (if booking is less than $200.00) or a $200.00 deposit, with balance payable on arrival. A refund will be given if your unit or site is cancelled at least 7 days prior to the arrival time of 2pm on the expected day of arrival, less a $25 cancellation fee. If cancelled within 7 days of expected arrival date, a cancellation fee of $50.00 will be applied. If an amendment results in shortening your stay, no refund will be made, unless more than 7 days notice is given.
Low Season (7th February - 21st December)
Reservations are only confirmed on receipt of at least one nights deposit per unit or site, with balance payable on arrival. A refund will be given if your unit or site is cancelled at least 24 hours prior to the arrival time of 2pm on the expected day of arrival, less a $25 administration fee. If cancelled within 24 hours of expected arrival, a cancellation fee equivalent to one night’s stay will be applied. If an amendment results in shortening your stay, no refund will be made, unless more than 24 hours’ notice is given.
There is no penalty to amend booking dates, however there may be a difference in tariff due to seasonality differences.
If you fail to arrive for your booking ('no show') and fail to advise us before midday the following day, the remaining dates of your stay will be cancelled with no refund on any monies paid.
No reduction for early departures or late arrivals. Minimum tariffs and stays may apply at certain times of the year.
In the event of a natural disaster or major weather event causing road closures etc, normal cancellation terms & conditions will apply.
Check-in / Check-out time: Check in time is from 2pm on day of arrival and check out time is 10am for both sites and accommodation on day of departure.
Please contact us directly if you wish to arrive early as we may be able to accommodate an earlier check in, however this is not guaranteed.
Please advise us if you intend to arrive after 8pm on day of arrival so that we can make arrangements for a ‘Late Arrival’. Instructions for your late arrival will be given at time of notification.
Please leave your site clear of sticks, stones, pinecones etc ready for the next Camper or the mower.
Children: Parents/Caregivers are responsible for all children camping with them. Children must be supervised at all times. Pre-schoolers need to be accompanied by an adult to toilets and showers.
· From 1 July 2024 children will be charged from 2-14 years inclusive.
Code of Conduct: If at any time a guest is destructive, abusive, a nuisance, or non-compliant they will be required to vacate the Holiday Park immediately without refund. The registered guest may be required to cover the cost of any damage incurred. Alcoholic drinks must be consumed in your own site or accommodation unit and are not permitted in common areas. Excessive drinking and loud parties are not permitted. Underage drinking is not permitted.
Dog Policy: (please refer to our Dog Policy separately) Powered and unpowered Dog-Friendly sites are limited and are in a designated area within the holiday park. Dogs are not permitted in other areas. Your visitors’ pets are not permitted. Dogs must not be left unsupervised and shall at all times be on a lead while in the Holiday Park. Dog poo is to be picked up immediately by the owner & placed in an appropriate rubbish bin. No pets are allowed in any Holiday Park buildings or cabins. Dogs are not permitted over peak season (Dec 20th - Jan 20th) or Public Holidays. If your dog makes constant loud noise day or night you may be asked to leave without a refund if you are unable to control the dog’s noisy behaviour. Management reserves the right to refuse pets at any time. Due to rare and endangered birdlife in the area cats are not permitted. When outside the Holiday Park, please adhere to local bylaws.
Drones: For the privacy and peace of mind of our guests, drones are prohibited within/over the Holiday Park.
Emergency: In case of emergency dial 111 and advise the duty manager of the situation. We are located at 1 Domain Road, Waikuku Beach, Canterbury, 7402.
Extra Cleaning Fee: If we are subjected to extra cleaning (above & beyond what is deemed to be acceptable) a cleaning fee will be charged to the credit card held.
Fireworks: Absolutely no fireworks are to be set off in or around the Holiday Park. Immediate expulsion from the Holiday Park will result if this occurs.
Key Return: All keys can be placed in the Key Return Box located outside reception.
Laundry: The laundry is open 24 hours. Washing machines take 2 x $2 coins and dryers are 1 x $2 coin for half an hour drying. Coins are available from Reception during opening hours. A Clothes lines is located next to the laundry.
Minimum Stays: Minimum length of stays may be enforced during peak times, or at the owners / managers discretion.
Parking: All vehicles must be parked on the camper’s own campsite. Only 2 vehicles per site are permitted unless approved by management so that an expedient and orderly evacuation can be achieved in the event of an emergency.
Payment: Payment in full is required at check-in unless prior approval has been given by management. No refunds for early departure during peak season, or long holiday weekends.
Payment Plans: We offer our guests the option to use our payment plans for bookings with a minimum balance of $200.00. Bookings must be for stays over 2 weeks in advance and there is a minimum of 2 payments required. Only available for online bookings made directly on our website.
Power: All caravans, campervans, and buses must have a current electrical warrant. Tent campers are required to use RCD-protected cables.
Privacy Statement: This statement applies to all individuals providing personal information to Waikuku Beach Holiday Park through this website or directly with the Holiday Park. When collecting personal information Waikuku Beach Holiday Park will comply with the Privacy Act 1993.
When you register or give us personal information it will be held on Waikuku Beach Holiday Parks Central Database. Waikuku Beach Holiday Park will not share this information with any other third parties without your permission.
Waikuku Beach Holiday Park may send out periodic emails informing you of special offers, updated information and new services. You will always have the opportunity to unsubscribe to these communications.
We take the security of your personal & credit card information very seriously. Our reservation system requires Multi-Factor Authentication and is PCI Complainant & stores all Credit Card Authorisations by converting the credit card number into a string of randomly generated numbers called a "token" and adds an extra layer of card security. This process will also allow you to use the stored Token until the expiration date of the card as the Token has no direct relevance to the Credit Card number if the token is used elsewhere.
Once your booking has been departed and there are no other forward bookings your credit card details are automatically deleted.
Rubbish & Recycling: We encourage all guests to recycle where possible and to dispose of all other rubbish in the appropriate manner. Please refer to the park map for the location of the rubbish & recyling bins.
Security: As a reminder, please ensure that you keep all valuables secure. Put away recreation equipment, lock your doors and ensure all vehicles are secure. We have limited storage areas available for valuables, please enquire at reception.
Quiet Time shall be observed between 10:00pm and 7:00am Consideration to other guests must be shown at all times.
Recreational Vehicles: E-Bikes or Scooters, Motorbikes, (including mopeds, ATV, quad bikes, dirt bikes, and 3 wheelers) are prohibited within the Holiday Park apart from as a mode of transport in or out of the Holiday Park and are bound by the same expectations as other Vehicles in terms of speed limits, etc. Please be aware that there is a bylaw prohibiting the use of motorised vehicles in the sandhills adjacent to the camp, and all motorised vehicles are prohibited on the beach, except during the whitebait season when vehicles with WDC permits are allowed on the specified track.
Smoking: Smoking is strictly prohibited in or within 5m of any building. Please consider other campers right to a smoke-free environment.
Speed: During peak times, vehicles are to be driven at walking speed (5 KPH). 10 KPH maximum at all other times. Please keep on designated roadways unless driving onto your site. Judder bars are in place to control speed. Please do not drive around them.
Visitors: ALL visitors must check-in at the office for security, safety, and in case of an emergency. Your visitors must depart the campground by 9:00pm. Registered guests are responsible for their Visitors.

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. Rules are subject to change at the owner’s discretion. Management assumes no responsibility for damages caused by acts of nature or by third parties.
When making a booking you agree:
To conform to Holiday Park bylaws & regulations (available from office & on website) & understand that any breach of the rules by ourselves or our guests could result in our site or accommodation being cancelled without any refund of fees paid.
Reservations are a contract between Waikuku Beach Holiday Park and the person named on the reservation, and are not transferable to any other person. This means that the named person must occupy the unit or site for the duration of the contract and is ultimately responsible for all occupants and visitors of that unit or site.
All visitors must report to the office on arrival & pay any relevant day visitor fee. All visitors vehicles must be parked outside the Holiday Park.
That our caravan/campervan will have a current electrical WOF and comply with LPG standards (AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3001 and AS/NZS 5428).
That our tent, if connected to a power supply, will have a transformer or an approved circuit breaking device.
That any additions to the numbers in our party must be notified to and consent given by the manager of the Holiday Park before arrival.
Only 2 vehicles are allowed to park on each site, with all other vehicles being parked in the designated areas.
That no animals are allowed in the Holiday Park unless permission from the Managers has been given.
Absolutely no fireworks are permitted in the Holiday Park. Any fireworks let off will result in immediate expulsion from the Holiday Park with no refund on fees paid.
Sites and units are allotted at the discretion of management who reserve the right to alter if necessary or cancel tenancy at any time.
We reserve the right to refuse a reservation at any time from any person if we reasonably believe the person:
is not the person named on the reservation
is not the person named on the credit card or not to be authorised to use the card
is not able to pay for any additional charges
may cause damage to the property or other guests
may exhibit socially unacceptable behaviour
is younger than 21 years and not accompanied by a responsible person over that age
is concealing a dog or other unauthorised animal
All bookings are accepted at the discretion of the management. All persons under the age of 21 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the booking. Failure to do this could result in the booking being cancelled, even upon arrival and no refund given.
